I watched the fall concert rehearsal this morning and it is amazing! I can't wait for you all to see it! Extra kudos to our Ashley on her solo without accompaniment and she sounded beautiful! There were even tears from some adults... This afternoon, we took a Geography assessment using the clickers. I thought it would be simple and review but almost half of the class thinks that Virginia is a state that borders Ohio, a third of the class thinks that the United States is a continent and the majority of our class is unsure about the hemisphere in which we are located. I feel that these are life skills and necessary common knowledge so please help your child learn, recognize and understand the current event and life skills that deal with our state, country and world along with what we do in class. Then, we read and completed some vocabulary and informational text work. Next, we worked on writing directions. The students are writing a paragraph on how to make one of their favorite foods/snacks. It's amazing how they always forget to state the obvious! Finally, we ended our atypical day with Guidance about bullying.
